YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAMS
The Youth Development Center seeks to offer a safe environment where children can learn and grow while having fun. Our services focus on complementing a child’s educational experience at school. We provide tutoring and homework help and a variety of enrichment activities like computers, music, arts and crafts and gym.

As youth participate in our programs they will find a place to make lasting friendships, to relate to, and trust adults that will show them respect, guide them in making positive choices and develop into responsible adults.

High School Credit Recovery Program
The LACC Credit Recovery program serves high school students in the Red Clay Consolidated School District, grades 9 thru 12 from low-and moderate-income families living in the City of Wilmington and outlying towns and suburbs. The program was designed to increase high school graduation rates by providing a community-based educational setting where at-risk students can earn academic credits toward graduation in an environment that is sensitive to their academic and life circumstances. Counselors identify students in grades 9 through 12 who are at risk of not completing the school year.

The program operates on a flexible schedule between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday from September to June.

PREVENTION PROGRAMS
All Stars Prevention program (ages 11-14)

All Stars Prevention program targets students ages 11-14 who have not yet had an experience with alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

The program empowers the youth to lead good, healthy and full lives through interactive activities like group discussions, games, art projects and one-on-one discussions with each student.
