SIGNATURE EVENTS
Each year the Latin American Community Center (LACC) organizes four signature events to celebrate Delaware’s Hispanic community and to recognize their many achievements. Attended by many of Delaware’s most influential leaders, these events support critical services that benefit the Latino and wider community.
Begun in 1969, the Latin American Community Center’s annual Black Tie Gala is the premiere creative and social event of Delaware’s Hispanic community. Honoring those who have made exceptional contributions to society, the Gala recognizes the year's Outstanding Hispanic Delawarean and Corporate Partner of the year.

Since 1979, the Hispanic Student Recognition Program (HSRP) has highlighted the achievements of exceptional Hispanic students in Delaware. Awards are presented to high school students in the areas of (1) Academic Excellence, (2) the Arts, (3) Athletics, (4)Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM), and (5) School/Community Service. Attended by over 400 students and parents annually, HSRP is a statewide undertaking and a unique event of the LACC.
The Latin American Community Center Open House occurs on the first Friday of every September and kicks off Hispanic Heritage month in our community. It is an opportunity for sponsors, funders and colleagues to visit El Centro Latino and celebrate Hispanic culture and food.
